She has performed extensively as a playback singer in Marathi, Konkani, and Hindi films. Recognized for her control over voice and style, Arati has also honed her craft under the Gwalior and Jaipur gharanas. She is known for her works in various audio cassettes and CDs and was the lead playback singer for the film 'Chardarang Begum'. She is married to actor Uday Tikekar, and they have a daughter, Swanandi Tikekar, who is also an actress.
