Archie Eugene Martin was an American jazz trombonist active in the Kansas City jazz scene. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1949 and worked professionally in Kansas City, collaborating with artists like Clark Terry. In 1956, he recorded under his own name with the Arch Martin Quintet. Martin toured with orchestras led by Claude Thornhill and Woody Herman and served as lead trombonist for the Warren Durrett Orchestra. He received the Jess Cole Award from the National Association of Jazz Educators in 1976 and participated in several recording sessions from 1958 to 1998.
