He spent his early years in Chmielno and studied at the Divine Seminary in Pelplin, where he was ordained a priest on June 6, 1992. He served in various capacities, including as a spiritual father at the seminary from 2000 to 2010, and as the parish priest in Kôłpinie from 2010 onward. Since February 2, 2019, he has been the auxiliary bishop of the Pelplin Diocese. Okroj is noted for his commitment to preserving the Kashubian language and culture.
