He served as a People's Deputy in the 8th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada from 2014 to 2019, representing the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. Kornatskiy attempted to run for President of Ukraine in the 2019 elections but finished 37th out of 39 candidates, receiving only 0.02% of the votes. His registration was refused by the Central Election Commission for the election.
