Arlene Iradie Semeco Arismendi is a Venezuelan freestyle swimmer born on January 11, 1984, in Caracas. A national and South American record holder, she has won gold medals at the Pan American, South American, and Central American Games. Semeco represented Venezuela in the 2004 Athens Olympics, the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and the 2012 London Olympics in the 50m and 100m freestyle events. She made history in 2008 as the first Venezuelan panamerican champion after medaling in the 50m and 100m events due to doping sanctions against another athlete.
