Arman Babajanyan is an Armenian politician and journalist born on January 15, 1976. He served as an independent member of the National Assembly and was the chief editor of Zhamanak-Yerevan. In 2006, he was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for evasion of military service, claiming political motivations behind his conviction. He was released in August 2009. Elected in 2018, Babajanyan later became an independent MP, founded the For The Republic Party in 2020, and attempted to form an electoral alliance for the 2021 parliamentary elections.
