Armando Bonifacio Chávez Montañez (1913-2003) was a Mexican chronicler, writer, historian, and politician. He graduated as a teacher in 1932 and became a notable figure in Ciudad Juárez by designing its coat of arms in 1947 and publishing the first edition of 'Historia de Ciudad Juárez' in 1960. He served as a federal deputy in 1967 and was named the city's first chronicler in 1980. Chávez also earned a law degree in 1992. His contributions greatly impacted the cultural and political landscape of Ciudad Juárez.
