Armando Soto La Marina, also known as El Chicote, was a Mexican actor born on October 1, 1909, in Victoria de Durango. He started his career in bullfighting before turning to comedy, debuting in the Carpa Mariposa in 1924. He appeared in a variety of films alongside notable actors like Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante. After suffering severe injuries in a car accident in 1946, he faced challenges in the film industry. In the 1980s, he returned to film, working with Maria Elena Velasco. He participated in over 120 productions.
