Armen Khachaturov Hovhannisyan (Avanesyan) was an Armenian poet, writer, translator, and publicist born on May 12, 1932, in Berdashen, Martuni District, NKR, Azerbaijan SSR, USSR. He served as the head of the Writers Union of Nagorno-Karabakh from 1974 to 1983 and was a member of the regional party committee and a deputy in the regional council. Hovhannisyan passed away on December 25, 2017, in Stepanakert.
