Arne Brataas is a Norwegian physicist born on February 26, 1969, in Oslo. He serves as a professor of theoretical physics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where he researches controlling and using electron spin in nanotechnology and spintronics. He has been cited over 1000 times annually since 2017. Brataas earned his dr.ing. degree in 1997, has postdoctoral experience at TU Delft and Harvard University, and has coordinated several EU projects. He co-founded the Center for Low Dissipation Quantum Spintronics (QuSpin), where he is currently part of the leadership team.
