Arne Egil Tønset is a Norwegian journalist and author born on May 30, 1959, in Røros. He began his journalism career at Fjell-Ljom in 1979 and has worked for various media outlets, including Arbeidets Rett and Dag og Tid. Starting in 1983, he worked with NRK, primarily in Vadsø, and served as their Moscow correspondent from 2003 to 2007. Tønset received the NRKs Store Journalistpris in 2004 for his coverage of significant events. He currently resides in Tromsø, freelancing and contributing to Barents Press for freedom of expression.
