Arne Heimsjø was a notable Norwegian military officer born on December 28, 1915, in Hemne. He began his military career after graduating from the 5th Division academy and police academy. He served during WWII, initially as a platoon leader in Infantry Regiment 6 and later in the UK. He rose through the ranks to major general, leading the district command in Trøndelag until his retirement. He was involved in disaster preparedness and had political aspirations with the Liberal People's Party. He passed away on April 18, 1989.
