Árni Björnsson (born January 16, 1932) is an Icelandic folklorist known for his work on Icelandic celebrations, feast days, and the customs and folklore associated with them. He served as the head of the Folklore Department at the National Museum of Iceland from 1969 to 2002. His most notable work is likely 'Saga daganna' (1977), which was also his doctoral dissertation defended in 1993. In 2017, a collection of his writings was published under the title 'Í hálfkæringi og alvöru' to commemorate his 85th birthday.
