He served as the Commander of the Main Naval Base II (Lantamal II) in Padang, West Sumatra, from September 16, 2009, to June 22, 2010. He succeeded Rear Admiral TNI Syarif Husin and was followed by Laksma TNI Aswad. Lantamal II, which began operations on August 1, 2006, covers the western coast of Sumatra, spanning four provinces from Aceh to Bengkulu.
