Sir Arnold Stanley Vincent Burgen (March 20, 1922 - May 26, 2022) was a professor of pharmacology at the University of Cambridge. He served as the director of the MRC National Institute for Medical Research in the UK and was the founding president of Academia Europaea. His research focused on the interaction of drugs with enzymes, which he studied using magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Under his leadership, the MRC Biomedical NMR Centre was established in 1980.
