Árpád Arder was an Estonian Evangelical Christian pastor, born on December 6, 1922, in Budapest. He attended Tallinna Poeglaste Kommertskool and studied economics at the University of Tartu. He served in the German army during WWII and was a prisoner of war in Czechoslovakia and Russia. From 1955 to 1968, he worked as a pastor in Rakvere and then in Suure-Jaani from 1968 to 1977, conducting services in Estonian, Finnish, and German.
