Arshad Sami Khan was a prominent Pakistani diplomat, civil servant, and fighter pilot, born on January 8, 1942. He reached the rank of Federal Secretary during his distinguished career. Initially, he served as a fighter pilot in the Pakistan Air Force and later as aide-de-camp to three presidents. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was chief of protocol for three presidents and four prime ministers. He also represented Pakistan as ambassador to 14 countries and was the first commissioner general of Pakistan, and retired as a top bureaucratic officer. He was the father of musician Adnan Sami.
