He began his military career volunteering for Bolshevik forces and rose through the ranks, ultimately becoming a major. Diemski commanded the 605 Ostbatalion 'Wołga' during anti-partisan operations and later served in various leadership roles within Russian nationalist groups after the war, avoiding repatriation to the USSR.
