Born in Akron, Ohio, in 1926, he gained fame for setting speed records at Bonneville Flats with his specially built vehicle, the Green Monster, in 1964 and 1965. Arfons was known for constructing his own vehicles, boats, and tractors, often collaborating with his half-brother, Walt Arfons. His contributions to motorsports and engineering have left a lasting impact on the racing community.
