Arthur James Edward Child was a prominent British-Canadian businessman known for his significant contributions to the meat-packing industry. He began his career in Toronto in 1931 with Canada Packers, eventually becoming vice-president. In 1960, he took the helm at Intercontinental Packers in Saskatoon and later led Burns Foods in Calgary starting in 1966. After transitioning Burns into a private company in 1978, he reacquired divisions and established a new business in 1986. At his passing in 1996, Child had amassed a fortune, being recognized as a multi-billionaire.
