Arthur F. Hebard is an American physicist and professor at the University of Florida, born on March 2, 1940, in New York City. He earned his bachelor's degree in Physics from Yale University in 1962 and completed his PhD at Stanford University in 1971. His research includes investigations of superconducting films, Kosterlitz-Thouless transitions, and the measurement of magnetic field penetration in superconductors. Hebard has received several awards, including the Oliver E. Buckley Prize and the James McGroddy Prize, and was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2017.
