Arthur Golden is a prominent American author born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Art History, specializing in Japanese art. In 1980, he obtained a graduate degree in Japanese History from Columbia University, where he also studied Northern Chinese. After taking courses at Peking University, he worked in Tokyo and later returned to the U.S. to earn a graduate degree in English from Boston University. Golden currently resides in Brooklyn, Massachusetts with his wife and two children, and is best known for his book 'Memoirs of a Geisha.'
