Arthur H. Rubenstein is a South African-American endocrinologist and diabetologist known for his translational research on diabetes mellitus. Born in 1937 in South Africa to Polish immigrant parents, he earned his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1960 and completed his residency at Johannesburg General Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital in London. He has held significant academic positions, including Director of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and Dean of Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Since 2011, he has been a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
