Arthur Rees Rowlands (14 May 1922 – 2 December 2012) was a Welsh police officer known as 'the Blind Policeman' after losing his sight from a gunshot wound inflicted by a thief in Machynlleth in 1961. After his recovery, he returned to work in North Wales Police and became a broadcaster for BBC Radio Cymru. He received the George Medal for bravery and was honored as a member of the Gorsedd of Bards in 1980 before passing away in Caernarfon at the age of 90.
