Arthur Schraml was a German typesetter, typographer, and graphic designer born on June 2, 1907, in Bern, Switzerland. After moving to Munich in 1923, he apprenticed as a typesetter while studying at the State School of Applied Arts under Fritz Helmuth Ehmcke. Schraml contributed to the Ehmcke-Kreis and was involved in various graphic design projects, including creating children's illustrations during WWII. He worked both freelance and as a designer in publishing. Notable for his simplification in design, he won awards for stamp design and book covers throughout his career.
