Arthur Antônio Sendas was a Brazilian businessman and the founder of Sendas supermarket, one of Brazil's largest supermarket chains. He began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 17, establishing and expanding his grocery store. Sendas supermarkets became highly prominent and were sold to Grupo Pão de Açúcar in 2003. Tragically, Sendas was murdered in 2008 at the age of 72, an act committed by his driver who feared losing his job. Following his death, his son Arthur Sendas Filho became the CEO of the company.
