Arthur Thomas Gibbons Sr. was an American businessman and politician born on February 2, 1903, in Oelwein, Iowa. He moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, in the same year. Gibbons graduated from Mechanic Arts High School and attended the University of Minnesota. He worked in the insurance sector and served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1935 to 1954. Later, he was a member of the Ramsey County Commission from 1962 to 1970. Gibbons passed away on April 19, 1986, due to lung cancer, and was buried in Saint Paul.
