Artur Savelyev is a former Soviet rugby player born on February 27, 1956, in Kohtla-Järve. He played as a lock (number 4) and achieved the title of Master of Sports in the USSR in 1979. After his playing career, he transitioned to coaching, working with the Sports Committee of the USSR and the Olympic Committee of Russia. Since the late 1990s, he has been involved with top-tier football clubs in Russia and has been part of the coaching staff at Dynamo Moscow as a rehabilitation coach since 2016.
