Admiral Arun Prakash is a distinguished former Flag Officer of the Indian Navy. Born in October 1944, he rose to become the Chief of Naval Staff from July 2004 to October 2006 and led the Chiefs of Staff Committee during the same period. A graduate of the National Defence Academy, he served as a naval aviator and commanded various significant naval vessels and operations, including airstrikes during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Prakash is celebrated for his leadership and is one of India’s most decorated naval officers.
