Kumarathurai Arunasalam was a notable Sri Lankan figure who founded the small village of Kumarapuram in the Trincomalee District of Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. He was born on May 25, 1939, and passed away on January 22, 2019. Arunasalam was also the younger brother of A. Thangathurai, a member of the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) and a parliamentary representative for the Trincomalee District.
