Aravind Gokhale was a prominent Marathi writer known for his contribution to modern short stories. Born in 1919 and passing in 1992, he authored over 300 stories collected in 20 books by 1965. Gokhale, educated in Botany and Agricultural Journalism, taught Economic Botany and also worked in the fertilizer industry. His stories have been widely translated and gained recognition, earning him multiple State Awards and an international competition prize. He was also involved in film scripting, radio plays, and authored a travelogue about the U.S.
