Asghar Khan was a Pakistani military leader, pilot, politician, and human rights activist, born on January 17, 1921, in Jammu and Kashmir. He served as the first Pakistani Air Force Chief from 1957 to 1965. Initially joining the Royal Indian Air Force in 1941, he later switched to the newly formed Pakistan Air Force after the partition of India in 1947. Khan established the Pakistan Solidarity Party with a secular and centrist political agenda after retiring in 1968. He authored political books in the 1990s and passed away on January 5, 2018.
