Asher Lopatin is an American pluralist and Open Orthodox rabbi, born on September 1, 1964. He serves as the Director of Community Relations at the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor and leads Kehillat Etz Chayim in Oak Park, MI. Additionally, he founded the Detroit National Center for Civil Discourse, overseeing a Fellowship in Civil Discourse at Wayne State University. Lopatin previously held the position of President at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah and served as spiritual leader at Anshe Sholom B'nai Israel Congregation in Chicago. He is also a Rhodes Scholar and member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
