Ashot Sarkisov is a prominent Russian scientist born on January 30, 1924, known for his work in nuclear submarine technology and nuclear safety. He began attending the Felix Dzerzhinsky Naval Engineering School in 1941 and served in the military during the war. He resumed his studies in 1945 and also attended Leningrad State University. Sarkisov attained a doctorate in technology in 1968 and has been a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1994. He received the Alexandrov Gold Medal in 2007 and retired from the Navy as a Major General.
