Ashrafuz Zaman Khan was a significant figure during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, responsible for the massacre of intellectuals. Born on February 28, 1948, in Faridpur, he was a prominent member of the Al-Badr militia, which carried out numerous killings, including that of teachers from Dhaka University. In November 2013, he was sentenced to death for his war crimes by the International Crimes Tribunal. Following the war, he fled to Pakistan and later moved to New York, where he currently leads the ICNA Queens branch.
