Ashwin Sood is an English-born Canadian musician and drummer, notable for his work with Sarah McLachlan, his ex-wife. Born in the UK to Indian immigrant parents and raised in Calgary, Canada, Sood began playing drums at seven and graduated from California's Musicians Institute in 1990. He gained recognition after collaborating with McLachlan on her album 'Solace'. The couple married in 1997 and have two daughters, but separated in 2008. Sood is also related to actors Veena and Manoj Sood.
