Ashwini Kumar (1920-2015) was a notable Indian sports administrator and police officer. He served as a member of the International Olympic Committee from 1973 to 2000 and held various positions, including Vice-President. He also led the Indian Hockey Federation and the Indian Olympic Association. As an IPS officer, he dedicated 36 years to service, retiring as Director General of the Border Security Force. He received the Padma Bhushan in 1972 for his contributions. Kumar passed away at the age of 94.
