He is one of the most popular pop musicians in Bangladesh and has been affectionately dubbed the 'Prince of Bengali Song' by listeners and journalists. His breakthrough came with the release of his first album 'O Priya Tumi Kothay' in 2001. He made his acting debut in the film 'Gohin-er Gaan' in 2019. From 2001 to 2006, Asif dominated album sales, with his debut album selling 5.5 million copies, the highest in Bangladesh's audio history.
