Høydal also wrote several children's books such as 'Born og bøling' (1950) and 'Heile klassa i sving' (1970). In addition to fiction, she produced a short story collection and a poetry collection. Her work earned her the Melsom Prize in 1964, highlighting her impact on Norwegian literature.
