Athar Ali Hashmi was a renowned Pakistani journalist and author, serving as the editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Jasarat. Born in Bahawalpur in August 1947, he received his education from FC College Lahore and the University of Karachi. He authored a thesis on Alauddin Khilji's economic policy for his M.Phil. Hashmi wrote a regular column called 'Khabar Lijiye Zuban Bigdi' and collaborated with various publications, including Urdu News in Jeddah. He passed away at the age of 74 on August 6, 2020, in his sleep.
