Aune Mäkinen was a Finnish librarian and poet born on January 6, 1938, in Rovaniemi. Despite suffering from tuberculosis at the age of four, she completed her education and later worked in her hometown's municipal office and as a librarian. In 1969, she married Arvo Mäkinen, whom she had met through correspondence. Mäkinen passed away on January 7, 1974, due to complications from childbirth. Her life inspired a monologue play titled 'Rakastettu, kaivattu,' premiered in 2009.
