Aunese Makoi Simati (born 22 April 1967) is a prominent Tuvaluan diplomat currently serving as Tuvalu's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates since April 2022. He was previously the Permanent Representative to the United Nations from December 20, 2012, to July 2017. Simati has a Master's degree in social science from Waikato University in New Zealand and has held significant positions in Tuvalu's civil service, including Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and as High Commissioner to Fiji. He is also recognized for his dual role as Ambassador to the United States.
