Aurel Covaci (February 13, 1932 – May 18, 1993) was a Romanian translator known for his work translating from multiple languages including English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian into Romanian. He collaborated with his brother Ion Covaci on some translations. An educational setback came when he was arrested with fellow students in 1958 for allegedly opposing the state. He served two years in prison and became head of the Romanian Writers' Union Department for Translated Literature from 1978 to 1993.
