Aurel Preda-Mătăsaru (June 12, 1940 - October 22, 2017) was a Romanian ambassador, reserve general, and professor of international public law and international relations at Nicolae Titulescu University in Bucharest. He participated in negotiations regarding the status of Snake Island and was president of the Romanian Association for Foreign Policy. With expertise in international law, he served as a member of the UN subcommittee defining aggression, and held key diplomatic positions including Romania's consul general in Milan in 1994.
