Aurora Duarte, born Diva Mattos Perez, was a Brazilian actress, screenwriter, producer, poet, and documentarian born on April 17, 1937, in Olinda. She began her career in amateur cinema at 13 and transitioned to professional film at 15. Discovered by director Alberto Cavalcanti, she starred in 'O Canto do Mar'. Known for her work in action films, her last role was in 2015's 'A Lenda do Gato Preto'. Aurora passed away on August 6, 2020, after complications from a fall, suffering from cognitive function disorders.
