He has held significant positions within the United Nations, including the UN Resident Coordinator for the Kyrgyz Republic from 2011 to 2017 and for Montenegro from 2008 to 2011. Additionally, he served as the Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP in Armenia from 2004 to 2008. His career also includes a period working in the Department of International Economic Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR and later Russia from 1984 to 1994.
