Avraham Steinberg is an influential Israeli medical ethicist and pediatric neurologist, born on August 25, 1947. He serves as the Director of the Medical Ethics Unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem and holds the position of co-chairman of the Israeli National Council on Bioethics. Steinberg has authored the seminal 7-volume work, Encyclopedia Hilchatit Refuit, recognized with the Israel Prize in 1999, and its English version was translated as the Encyclopedia of Jewish Medical Ethics. He is also involved in various Talmudic literature publications.
