Justice Avula Sambasiva Rao (16 March 1917 - 27 July 2003) was an esteemed Indian judge who served as the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh and as a Lok Ayukta. An alumnus of Madras University, he practiced law at the Madras High Court and the Andhra Pradesh High Court before being appointed as a permanent judge in 1967. Rao also held the position of Vice-Chancellor at Andhra University and acted as Chief Justice for a brief period in the mid-1970s before officially becoming the Chief Justice in 1978. He retired in 1979.
