Carl Axel Holger Petersen was a Danish athlete and businessman, born on February 15, 1902, in Ordrup, Denmark. He was a member of the athletic clubs Olympia Maribo and AIK 95 in Copenhagen. Petersen competed in the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam but did not advance beyond the preliminary heat in the 5000 meters. He won nine Danish championships and achieved significant records in various distance events, including being the first Dane to run under 32 minutes in the 10,000 meters. He passed away on September 27, 1983, in Ballerup.
