Aycan Önel is a Turkish sprinter born on April 17, 1933. She made history as the first Turkish woman to compete in the UK, participating in the women's 100 metres at the 1960 Summer Olympics. In addition to her Olympic appearance, Önel also contested in the 1957 AAA Championships. She is married to Cahit Önel, another Turkish Olympian who competed in athletics at the 1960 and 1964 Summer Games.
